Dear PAML Families,
I am pleased to report that we just completed a very successful evacuation drill this morning. Our students took this important exercise seriously and we’re all really pleased with how it went. Through our work with school safety contractor Margolis Healey we’ve made some changes to our evacuation plans. This is just one example of how we’ve been working with experts to make PAML as safe as possible.
This week I wanted to make sure I mentioned some positive shifts we’ve been making to the end of our school day. We’re really thrilled to be launching PAML “Clubs” at the end of this week. We took lots of input from students to design a menu of activities at the end of the day on Fridays facilitated by school adults. These activities might include things like Popular music ensemble, theater, beat making, “Extreme Sports” club, or a student advocacy group. Students signed up for these clubs for the entire quarter. We’ll do another sign-up for quarter 2. Our hope is that these clubs help us promote a positive and connected 5-8 school culture.
Our 7th grade team departed on their canoe trip this morning. They really “lucked out” with the weather! We have quite a few beginning of the year trips. Please check-in with your student to see if they are heading out on a trip soon.

We are very excited to have so many class options for Unbound this Fall! I encourage you and your child to take a look through the brochure and give something new a try! Please send registration forms back ASAP as we’ll need to determine if we have enough students signed up to run a class. Please reach out with any questions! Also, do you have interest in swimming lessons for our Winter 2024 session? We are looking into options at the Swimming Hole for a 6 or 8 week session. If this is something you are interested in, please reach out to me directly at amy.thompson@lamoillesouth.org so we know what we may have for numbers.

PA Coaches Needed: We are always looking for more coaches and volunteers to help with the PA Soccer Program. We are still looking for a second PAML boys & a second PAML girls soccer coach. We are also looking for a Boys JV Soccer coach. Please spread the word or let me know if you have any interest. Most of these positions come with stipends $$.
