Growing lifelong learners through joy, curiosity, connection & community.

Dear Stowe Elementary Families,

Well, it is here, our first winter weather advisory of the year. With the rapidly changing weather, it is important that children are dressed appropriately to be outdoors multiple times throughout the school day. This means jackets, hats and gloves or mittens. It can be helpful to put snow pants into the childrens backpacks. We plan on being outside everyday unless the temperature dips below zero degrees.

We were fortunate to receive many donations of winter gear from our PTO gear drive. If your student could benefit from a new coat, snow pants or gloves, let us know, we are happy to provide you with a donation.

Tomorrow afternoon we have our first school wide PBIS celebration. Students will be enjoying an extra recess and donuts that were generously donated by Cold Hollow.

We have several upcoming events so mark your calendars:

  • No School Friday in observance of Veteran’s Day
  • STEAM Fair, Thursday November 16 @ 6:00 in the gym
  • No School November 20-24 for Thanksgiving Break

Please join us for the 2023 S.E.S. STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, The Arts, and Mathematics) Fair. Students in third, fourth, and fifth grade have had an opportunity over the past weeks to research various STEAM topics and are ready to exhibit their work . Please join us on Thursday, November 16th from 6:00-7:00 in the gymnasium.

Attendance Letters

Over the coming week, we will be mailing attendance letters. We understand that children are out of school for a variety of reasons and look forward to partnering with your family if you need any support with your child attending school.

Friday Program

If you have not completed your Friday Program registration, please use this link. All registration, documentation and payments need to be completed by November 15th. We are unable to make changes to your child’s registration after it closes on November 15th. We are excited to have a new partnership with Spruce Peak Performing Arts Center called Curious Place. Curious Place is where students discover who they are in the world of drama through scene building, characterization, ensemble work, creation of props and costumes.

Please mark your calendars for our Friday Program dates:

Afterschool Enrichment

The SES after-school program is back! For the winter session there are some familiar and some new classes. This session will run from 11/14 – 1/5 Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 3:05 – 4:00 (sessions will not run during vacation weeks). Within the registration, you will see that some courses are for specific grade levels. Registration will close this Friday morning at 8:00am and you will receive a confirmation email later in the day Friday confirming your child’s enrollment.

Last, we are excited to bring in an acting class through a partnership with Spruce Peak Performing Arts. This class is Tuesdays and Wednesdays both of which must be attended as the plan is to create a final performance. If you have any questions about registration please do not hesitate to reach out to our Enrichment Coordinator Chantal DuBrey at enrichment.ses@lsuu.org. This programming is being provided free of charge due to COVID Relief Funding. Thank you and we hope to see you there! Please click here to register: Winter Session Registration.
