Schoolwide PBIS Celebration

On Thursday, we celebrated our first school wide PBIS celebration. PBIS or Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports is a proactive, school-wide, systems approach to improving social and academic competence for all students. At Stowe Elementary School we have three schoolwide expectations

  • Respect Yourself
  • Respect Others
  • Respect Your Environment

We support students in proactively and explicitly teaching the expectations and supporting students in recognizing students when they demonstrate these expected behaviors through the use of our dominos.  Classroom and schoolwide celebrations are one piece of how we support and recognize student behavior.

I would like to thank Cold Hollow Cider Mill for their generous donation of cider donuts that were a part of our celebration on Thursday where children were able to celebrate our first snow fall with extra afternoon recess and a donut.

STEAM Fair

Please join us for the 2023 S.E.S. STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, The Arts, and Mathematics) Fair. Students in third, fourth, and fifth grade have had an opportunity over the past weeks to research various STEAM topics and are ready to exhibit their work . Please join us on Thursday, November 16th from 6:00-7:00 in the gymnasium.

Afterschool Enrichment

Our after school enrichment program kicked off this week. Children are participating in high quality after school activities at no cost to families. These programs are funded utilizing COVID-Reflief Grant funds. We will be running a second session of afterschool programming in the spring.
