Dear PAML Families,
I’d like to start by wishing everyone a Happy Thanksgiving as this will be my last communication before we all head off for a restful Holiday break.
Thank you so much for supporting our two professional days on Monday and Tuesday of next week. Having these days added on to the Thanksgiving break is a new calendar feature and we hope you find this to be a welcome change. Faculty and staff will be engaged in learning throughout the two days. We are excited to welcome guests like Joelle Van Lent and Jamele Adams. Joelle will continue her work with us on developing our social emotional capacity as educators. Jamele will be focusing on racial equity and building a more inclusive environment in our schools. We will also be taking steps forward in our implementation of the Illustrative Math curriculum.
Upon our return from Thanksgiving break we’ll be hosting our family conferences on December 8th. There will be time slots available throughout the school day on December 8th. These conferences are scheduled with your student’s TA teacher and offer an opportunity for your student to share their learning with you. It is our goal to make sure that everyone who wants a conference is able to have one. If you can not find a time that works on the 8th please reach out to your student’s TA teacher to schedule a time that works.

PBIS News!
This Friday we are having an all-school celebration for filling the cube tube! We will be walking down to the Bijou Theater in the morning to watch The Marvels!(7 and 8 only) and Trolls 3 (5 and 6 only). Friday afternoon we will be having our November All School Community Meeting where we celebrate all of the Wolf Tracks our students have earned throughout the month. We sent out a message this week letting our 7th and 8th grade families know that The Marvels (Common Sense Media Link) is rated PG-13. If you feel that PG-13 content is inappropriate for your 7th or 8th grader please let the office know and we will make other arrangements.
Unbound Information:
Hello Families!
I just wanted to send an update on our Fall Unbound schedule. We’ve had several classes that ended (Martial Arts, Cyanotype printing, Disc Golf, and Outdoor Sports), the rest will continue through December 22nd!
We also have 2 NEW classes we’ll be offering for 4 weeks after the students return from Thanksgiving break, so these will finish up on Dec 22nd as well.
Monday ~ “Crafts and more” ~ led by Bonnie Tallman. Room TBD. Join Bonnie in creating some fun crafts! Max of 8 students
Tuesday ~ Table Tennis (Ping Pong) ~ led by high school student Bradley Coolum. This will take place in the library. We’ll have 2 tables, so a max of 8 students. Bradley competes around the state and is excited to share his passion for table tennis!
If your child is currently enrolled in an Unbound activity (or was this Fall), then you only need to send back the form telling me which class you’d like to sign them up for. If this will be their FIRST class this school year, please fill out the entire registration form.

Student Advisory Council
Our District is putting together a Student Advisory Council. We are seeking nominations of students to provide essential feedback to district level decision makers. Please take a moment to read the letter below.
Winter Wellness Activity Information
I am very excited to announce that this year we will be able to add Alpine Skiing at “Smugg’s” to our list of options for our Winter Wellness Activities. We are also planning on offering opportunities like ice skating, swimming, xc skiing, bowling, and art just like we did last year. The dates for our Winter Wellness Program are below:
- 1/12/24
- 1/19/24 (no alpine skiing, students will sign-up for something else)
- 1/29/24
- 2/16/24
Coordinating alpine skiing is a much heavier lift than what we’ve done in the past. We will definitely need some family members to help us lead groups and supervise students in the lodge. We would be thrilled to have help from experienced skiers as well as non-skiers. There is a job for everyone! If you are interested in volunteering your time on these days please contact Dan Gilbert our Winter Wellness Activities Coordinator (dan.gilbert@lamoillesouth.org).
Please Contribute to our Title I Family Engagement Survey
We held our Title I Family Engagement Meeting this week. So thankful for the folks that were able to attend. We would still love your feedback even if you weren’t able to attend. Please consider viewing the slideshow and responding to the prompts found in this link:
PAML Personal Technology Agreements
2023-7-28-Personal technology agreements (Final)
We will be printing these agreements and sending them home with students this week. Please sign and return them with your student. We will be making these agreements part of our TA activities in the coming weeks.
